I like the No. 21 Minnesota Golden Gophers as a home underdog here in their season opener against No. 18 Michigan.

While the Wolverines have yet to name their starting QB (between to inexperienced options), the Gophers return Tanner Morgan who passed for 3,253 yards and 30 TDs while completing 66 percent of his attempts during the team's 11-2 season last year.

"I think that what's going to elevate his game is being able to find a way to get everybody else around him to elevate their play based on how he plays," Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck said. "I think his leadership has gone through the roof. It's better now than it's ever been. His familiarity with the offense, his film study, familiarity with his teammates has all made him a better leader."

Additionally, Michigan has been hit relatively hard by players opting out of the season to prepare for the NFL draft.
