(MLB) Philadelphia vs. Atlanta, 05/09/2021 7:08 PM, Score: 1 - 6
Point Spread: 1.50 | -163.00 Atlanta (Home)
Result: Win
I'm playing ATLANTA on the run-line (+1.5 runs) I believe that yesterday's game was the type that will provide the Braves with positive momentum while having the opposite effect on the Phillies. The Yankees were done. The Phillies had them but couldn't close the deal. Philadelphia was up 3-1 going into the bottom of the 9th but couldn't hold it and Atlanta forced extra innings. Still, the Phils took the lead in the top of the 11th and had another chance to close things out. It wasn't meant to be. The Braves tied it in the bottom of the 11th. Surely, however, the Phils would be able to hold a 7-4 lead in the 12th? Nope. Once again, the Braves came back. Again, a momentum-building win for Atlanta and a deflating loss for Philadelphia. This evening, its Nola vs. Ynoa. Nola has pitched well and carries the "bigger name." That has the Phils favored on the ML and allows us the opportunity to grab an extra +1.5 runs with the Braves. Though I expect Altanta to win outright, in a game that could well be close, just like yesterday, those extra +1.5 runs could well come in handy. Note that both of Nola's last two starts were decided by a single run. Also, note that Nola's success has been at home and that he's got a 5.00 ERA in three road starts. He's also 2-4 with a mediocre 3.97 in eight starts here. Ynoa has quietly been even better, arguably, than Nola. He's got a 2.36 ERA through six starts and he's 3-0 with a 0.98 ERA his last three. He's allowed two or fewer earned runs in five of his six starts and the Braves won his past two by a combined score of 16-1. Expect AT LEAST a "run-line cover."
