Result: Win
I'm playing CHICAGO on the run-line (+1.5 runs) World Series preview? Unlikely, but it is possible. Both teams are in great shape to win their division. After that, you never know. Anyway, in a game where runs are expected to be limited (O/U line is 7, as of this writing) then getting an extra +1.5 runs takes on added significance. Lynn has been fantastic. He's 9-3 with a 1.94 ERA. Over his past three starts, he's got a 1.42 ERA. While the Sox are just 2-2 his past four starts, both of the losses came by one run. Woodruff, to his credit, has also been stingy. Note, however, that he did walk four batters in 5 2/3 innings last start. The Brewers are 3-3 his past six starts. However, a closer look shows that two of the three wins came by a single run. So, one would be 1-5, if laying -1.5 with the Brewers' in Woodruff's last six starts. Lynn's teams are 4-0 his last four starts against the Brewers. Going back further finds that Lynn's teams are 9-3 his last 12 starts against Milwaukee and that two of the three losses came by a single run. That's an 11-1 record if getting +1.5 in Lynn's past 12 against the Brewers. The veteran is pitching better than ever, too. Expect AT LEAST a "run-line cover."
