This is an 8* SITUATIONAL SATURDAY TOTAL on the OVER Tigers/Royals.

While yesterday's game stayed below the posted number, tonight's contest sets up as more of a SLUG-FEST in my opinion.

The Tigers hand the ball to Casey Mize (5-5, 3.44 ERA), and he comes in off a good outing against the Rangers on Monday, going four scoreless and striking out two in what turned out to be no-decision.

Mize hasn't been able to work very deep into games though and I think that will help in driving this total OVER today, as I don't trust the Tigers' bullpen either.

The home goes with Carlos Hernandez (1-1, 4.91), who gave up two runs over four innings in a loss to the Orioles on Sunday.

Over 25.2 innings Hernandez owns the pedestrian 4.91 ERA, a poor 1.60 WHIP and unimpressive 36:17 K:BB over 25.2 innings.

I say Mize takes a step back here against this hungry Royals side.

Detroit is looking to bounce back and get back to its recent winning ways and when you add it all up, I expect this one to fly OVER the number sooner, rather than later.
