AAA's 10* SENIOR CIRCUIT TOTAL SLUGFEST!
(MLB) NY Mets vs. Milwaukee, 07/24/2014 4:10 PM, Score: 1 - 9
Total: 7.50 | -110.00 Under
Result: Win
This is a 10* TOTAL SLUGFEST on the OVER between the New York Mets and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Two lopsided trends collide, suffice it to say I look for this total to sneak above the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. Note that New York has seen the total go UNDER the number in five straight games (despite just taking two of three from the Mariners). Milwaukee has seen the total go UNDER the number in three straight games, sweeping the Reds in the process. These teams have faced each other in just one series in 2014, and two of three went below the posted number. As a situational handicapper, these are exactly the types of games that I keep my eyes open for, I believe lop-sided numbers naturally correct themselves over the short, the mid and the long term. The home side sends Matt Garza (6-7, 4.04 ERA) to the hill; Garza most recently was shelled for five runs off five hits while walking two and striking out just one in a loss to the Nats on Saturday. The surging home side will face Dillon Gee (4-2, 2.92 ERA) who allowed four runs and five hits (including two home runs) in five innings of a 6-0 loss at San Diego on Saturday; and note that unfortunately for Gee, a date in Milwaukee is not what the doctor ordered for him to get untracked, he's lost all three starts at Miller Park behind a poor 6.75 ERA. Recent performance definitely plays a part in my handicapping repertoire, neither of these starters comes in with any momentum whatsoever. The writing is on the wall, all signs point to this one eclipsing the number; play on the OVER.
