Result: Win
This is an 8* DESTRUCTION on Western Michigan.

When the smoke clears at the end of this one, we look for Western Michigan to find a way to get the job done. MTSU's secondary is stout, it's pulled in 16 INT's this year, which ranks tied for 16th in the country. But WMU QB Zach Terrell has been extremely effective in helping his team control the time of possession this year and the special team's for the Broncos are also poised for a big day, MTSU ranked near the bottom of the Conference USA in both punt and kick return coverage. Conversely, WMU's special teams coverage has been adept at forcing fumbles on opposing punt and kick returns also season; also note that Middle Tennessee is minus-3 in the turnover margin this year with 24 gained (8 fumbles, 16 INTs) and 27 lost (18, 9), while Western Michigan is even in the turnover margin with 16 gained (7, 9) and 16 lost (8, 8). The Blue Raiders strength is obviously on the offensive side of the ball, the Broncos will have their hands full with their three-headed running attack and MTSU also has a couple of the best receivers in Richie James and Ed Batties. But all of that said, in our opinion, WMU is the more complete team in all three phases and we think this overall consistency across the board will ultimately prove to be the difference in the outcome tonight. Western Michigan is 0-6 all time in bowl games, but last year it was the first time any of the current players had even made it to the postseason: "Last year, we had never been to a bowl game, so people probably felt a little more pressure," WMU senior Cleveland Smith assessed earlier in the week. "This year it comes down to the simple fact that we've been there and we've done that. Everybody is more calm. It's like another game." The table is set for WMU to make a couple of big plays and that'll spell doom for turnover prone MTSU; play on the BRONCOS.
