AAA's AMERICAN LEAGUE TOTAL "ASSASSIN!" EPIC RUN ROLLS ON!
(MLB) Houston vs. Oakland, 07/22/2014 6:05 PM, Score: 3 - 2

Result: Win
This is an 8* "TOTAL ASSASSIN" on the UNDER between the Houston Astros and the Oakland Athletics.

When the smoke clears at the end of this one, I look for the total to sneak below the posted number. The home side sends the red hot Scott Kazmir (11-3, 2.38 ERA) to the hill; Kazmir has given up two or fewer runs in ten of his last 12 outings (note that he's a near perfect 6-1 with a highly respectable 1.57 ERA in front of the home town crowd this year). Note that Kazmir has had plenty of success against the punchless Astros going 2-1 with a 3.60 ERA in five career starts vs. them. And that's bad news for Houston which is likely to be without the services of slugger George Springer who has a bad quad muscle (Springer is expected to return in this series, but not in this game); and remember, the Astros are already down outfielders Alex Presley and Dexter Fowler to injury. The visitors send Brett Oberholtzer (2-7, 4.50 ERA) to the hill to counter; Oberholtzer has steadily gotten better as the season has progressed in posting a 3.09 ERA over his last five starts. Both teams are coming off high-scoring affairs, but with two competent starters facing off in the opener of this three-game series, I definitely feel that all signs point to a classic pitchers-duel; play on the UNDER.
